Many people who become small business owners with All4U were driven by that intense desire to leave their current jobs. So, what can you do if you are feeling that pull and drive to leave your job as quickly as possible? Make a plan!
First, determine your strengths
The first step in deciding to leave your current job is to figure out what you can do well and what people need. Brainstorm a list of talents and skills that you have. These can be traditional skills, like communication, manufacturing, or management, or they can be offbeat, new skills, such as home decorating, gutter cleaning, or web design. Then, use the list of things you can do well to narrow it down to things you can do well that other people have a need for.
For example, if you are a handy person and enjoy fixing gutters, simple plumbing problems, and maintaining yards, you might be a great fit for a neighbor who has no idea how to do those things.
Make a plan for the after
You’ll also want to be careful to communicate with your family and friends that you are still working even when you’re at home. They might not understand that being home means not running errands, visiting, or talking on the phone for a long period of time. Prepare yourself to say “no” when friends and family members ask you for favors or to skip out on work during the daytime.
Celebrate the every day!We almost forgot the final step: celebrate! You set a goal, achieved it, and now it’s time to reap the rewards. Within your new work schedule, enjoy taking time off for family events, reading good books, and being yourself -- without the corporate job to hold you back. Make a point to celebrate your new way of life every week
